Springing Into Action!

Today is the kids' Spring-A-Thon Fundraiser at school. They will be exercising for 2 hours - stretching, hopping, jumping, jogging, and dancing. They received pledges and are raising money for Classroom Technology and the Tuition Assistance Fund. They were pretty pumped up this morning! Go BLS Bobcats!

UPDATE: 2 HOURS OF JAZZERCIZE! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! THE KIDS DANCED THEIR SOCKS OFF! FUN TIMES AND A GREAT WAY TO GET SOME EXERCISE AND RAISE $$$!

Pioneer Day!

What a fun day! Joshua's 4th grade classes finished up their Colorado History Unit today. The morning was spent making button toys, quilted pillows, tin-punching, and silhouettes. We also played "Pioneer Games" - gunny sack races, 3-legged races, and rolling a hula hoop (in the old days - willow branches) with a stick! After lunch the kids shared the family heirlooms that they brought in (butter churners, flat irons, pictures, oil lamps, and much more). The afternoon was cooking time - all homemade... drop biscuits with homemade butter, apple slices in cinnamon and sugar, and stir crazy cake! The highlight at the end of the day??? Square Dancing! The kids did a great job! Joshua even grabbed Aunt Gailie for a round of square dancing! and finally? Getting to taste all of their yummy food!

Fun at the Farm

Every year our school hosts a Family Fun Night at the White Fence Farm. Dad and Mom joined us and we had a great meal of fried chicken, liver and onions, shrimp, fish, and turkey ~ plus lots of fun sides! The favorite? Fresh corn fritters and kidney bean salad! The kids had a ball feeding the goats and playing with all of their friends in the treehouse and at the pond! Fun times! That's a potato harvester that they're all posing in front of :-)

The EB and the TF!?!?

The EB and the Tooth Fairy are BOTH due for a visit tonight - there's a little concern that there might be a collision at the top of the stairs!!! In any event, we'll be celebrating the RESURRECTION come morning! A Blessed Easter Celebration to all of you!!!

Coloring Easter Eggs!

We LOVE coloring Easter eggs - and of course - the science fun that comes at the end when all of the colors mix together in the sink! Eating them is awesome, too!!!

Easter's Coming Soon!

Easter is right around the corner! We celebrated Palm Sunday this past week, and the mailbox has been full of goodies from all over. Grandpa Dale and Grandma Beverly sent Hannah a beautiful Easter dress - can't wait to see pictures of the cousins in their matching dresses!!! Great Grandma Knobloch sent these adorable cards with dollar bills (always a hit!). Hannah made these darling foam bunnies at Daisy Scouts today! We'll be coloring eggs before we know it, and celebrating the resurrection!!!
