It's so hard to believe that Joshua and Hannah are finishing up 5th and 2nd grades!  We are loving watching their unique God-given characteristics and talents blossoming in so many ways!!! 

Soldiers' Angels Project

I love that Joshua's teacher and Hannah's girl scout leader took the time to have our kiddos participate in this - please share this opportunity with others!!!

We need 50,000 cards and letters from you ~ the American people who support our troops. Please consider working with your office, school, church or service clubs to make cards or write letters to include in care packages sent overseas. Our soldiers are especially touched by homemade cards from children, or letters that let them know what's going on back home: what books, movies, and music are coming out, or what your day-to-day life is like. Or write a letter to let them know what you're doing here at home to support the troops!

 

Guidelines:

Address cards and letters to "Dear Soldier, Dear Friend, Dear Buddy, "

Please do not seal cards and letters in individual envelopes for delivery to the soldiers. Instead, place cards and letters inside a larger mailing envelope or box to send to either of the above addresses.

Please send cards and letters of support that are unique and thoughtful; it means so much to the men and women defending our freedom. Funny cards are great. Our soldiers need to laugh.

Children's coloring pages are fun to send. Even little scribbles on a card or paper from a young child is great too.

We ask the teacher of school kids to send the cards and letters. Not individual children.

Please write the child's first name only and age on the card or letter.

Hannah's Friends

Hannah has become quite the little writer; this is her latest "story" which includes clip art and pictures, too!  She printed one for each of the girls.

My friend Gracie is very special, you see. She has a very funny laugh. Even though she likes to laugh at me, she has a kind heart inside. She likes dogs and cats. She likes pears you see.

So now to introduce you to number two. Cagor came from Africa, she’s very kind and sweet. She makes my heart jump for joy, and you want her as a partner when you run the mile.

Shall we move to number three? Her name is Madi. She likes to be a dog in every game we play. She’s half tomboy, half girlygirl, but she fits just fine. She’s like a treat to me.

Yep, we're in the last week of school ~ can't believe 5th and 2nd grade is almost over! Final tests are being taken, books and CDs are being turned in, Fun Days are being planned!!! A week from today we'll be breathing in the fresh mountain air ~ hiking in the woods, making crafts, swimming, mini golfing, fishing ~ enjoying the great outdoors! Alas ~ a pic from last year's adventure!!! We don't get to hang with the Foster Four this time around ~ but Moab awaits... :-)

Hannah's First Piano Recital

So exciting ~ Hannah had her first piano recital last night!!! All of the students did an amazing job ~ so much talent in the room!  They all played from memory and it was fabulous!

Field Day 2010

Today was Field Day at Denver Lutheran High School - we love it because all of the metro area Lutheran schools get together for some fun and friendly competition!  We pack a huge blanket and our picnic lunch, and hang out on the lawn for the day!  The sun was out and it was a beautiful!!!  Just an FYI ~ I'm looking out the window now and torrential rain has started pouring down ~ phew!
