Lefse (by definition: a traditional soft Norwegian flatbread) ~ a family friend brings homemade lefse to Dad and Mom every Christmas ~ It looks like a tortilla ~ we love it with a little butter and cinnamon or with peanut butter and even jelly!
My birthday ~ Mom always baked me a cake with snowy trees for decor ~ Grandma Meta sent me a crocheted stocking that gets hung up on my birthday and filled with little treats every day until Christmas! Greg knows he married into a family that is BIG into birthday celebrations!!!

Ornaments ~ we have so many wonderful ones ~ old ones that have been handed down through the years, and new ones that have been specially chosen!
Polish pierogis (by definition: boiled, baked or fried dumplings of unleavened dough stuffed with varying ingredients) ~ I had never these until I met Greg ~ Kathy makes them every year when we all get together!
Quilts and blankets ~ how can you go wrong getting cozy by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate? A friend made me a Christmas quilt years ago, and the kids have fun fleece Christmas blankets from Boppa Tom and Grammy Darls!

Sleeping under the Christmas tree ~ we do it every year ~ a great little family tradition!
Two weeks of Christmas vacation ~ no school, no homework, and no scheduling (other than a pleasantly reduced work schedule)!

Visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads (you're right ~ it's a stretch to come up with my own V) ~ but we love reading all of our Christmas books! We have them all out in the family room plus The Night Before Christmas is waiting under the tree in the living room!

Yuletide carols sung by the choir ~ our church choirs had a full orchestra on Sunday morning to help kick off the season ~ it was amazing!
